Please take a minute to read the following policy so you understand how we use the personal information you submit to EduLocator. We created this policy with a fundamental respect for our users’ right to privacy, in order to guide our relationships with our users.
If you use any of our services, you agree to these terms (in addition to the Terms and Conditions of Use).
As we update and expand our services, this policy may change, so please refer back to it periodically.
Collection and Use of Information
We invite users to provide information via forms. Participation in these is voluntary, as is the type of information they choose to disclose (such as name and address).
We use this information to process your requests and to communicate with you about the status of your requests. We may also use your email address to send you newsletters to which you are subscribed, as well as messages about any special offers, promotional announcements and consumer surveys, or administrative messages.

In addition, our parent, subsidiary and affiliate companies, entities into which our company may be merged, or entities to which any of our assets, products, sites or operations may be transferred, will be able to use personal information.
We will also disclose information in the following circumstances:
- We are legally required to do so (for example, by subpoena).
- In special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) our rights or property.
- In special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to protect the personal safety of users or the general public.
Cookies and Log files
Cookies are small pieces of data that a Web server transfers to a user's hard drive when a user visits the Web site. A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that the site uses to track the pages visited. The only personal information a cookie can contain is that which a user supplies. EduLocator does not use cookies to store passwords or any other personal information about a user. You may refuse cookies in your browser, but doing so may result in certain services and features not functioning properly.
For our internal purposes, we gather date, time, browser type, navigation history and IP address of all visitors to our site. We do not link such information to anything that can identify users personally. We use this information for our internal security audit log, trend analysis and system administration, and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.
We do develop summary - never individual - reports for our business affiliates. These are the people that make it possible for EduLocator to be free for visitors, and this information is used to help them better understand our services.
Information not collected by EduLocator.com:
A user can access our Web sites and utilize many of our services without providing any information at all. We will never follow their browsing path outside of our web site.
Cached Information
There may be instances where information you have submitted to EduLocator is temporarily cached or stored by another site, such as Google.com, even after EduLocator has removed such information from our site. The sites maintained by third parties are outside of EduLocator’s control. Accordingly, EduLocator expressly disclaims any responsibility for the cached information displayed by these third party web sites.
Children
In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), EduLocator does not collect or store any personal information, even in aggregate, about children under the age of 13.
We believe that children should get their parents' consent before giving out personal information. If you are concerned about your child's use of this site, we encourage you to use web-filtering technology to supervise your child's access. For children 14 and up (high-school age), we also encourage you to participate in your child's experience with our site. With a little guidance, this site can prove very useful in finding post-secondary education for your child, as well as providing them with excellent educational resources.
Security and Access
We have implemented technology and security features, as well as strict internal guidelines, to safeguard the privacy of your personal information from unauthorized access or improper use. In addition, access to all of our users' information is restricted. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Finally, the servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
Notification & Changes
If we change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so our users are aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under which circumstances, if any, we disclose it. Users should check this policy frequently to keep abreast of any changes.6
